Senior Night 2009
The Lady Mustangs celebrated Senior Night with a bang, winning both ends of their tri-match with Sunnydale Academy and Great Plains Academy.

Despite being down 11-2 in the first game against Sunnydale, the girls refused to give up and fought back for a satisfying 25-20 victory. Midland totally controlled the second game of the match, as senior Lindsey Maddux unleashed a blistering serve and started the Mustangs off with 11 straight points. After giving up a single tally, the girls got the ball back and senior Heather Naumann added another four points to the score. The Lady Mustangs cruised to a 25-4 victory over the Spartans, taking the first match two games to zero.

After Sunnydale defeated GPA in three games (SA 25-14, GPA 25-11, SA 25-20), Coach Jahn recognized the three seniors on the team this year: Shawntee' Harris, Lindsey Maddux, and Heather Naumann. These three players represent nine years of volleyball skills, and will certainly be missed when next season rolls around! Next, Coach Glass recognized senior Chris Fairchild for his eight years of service to the team as Beverage Co-ordinator, luggage packer, and assistant coach.

After the festivities, the girls took the court for the final home game of the year, defeating the visiting Great Plains Academy Storm by the scores of 25-11 and 25-9. The team has one more game left before the Union College Tournament begins on October 22. Best of luck, and congratulations to a great group of seniors, class of 2009!
