Masquerade - A Splash of Color!
More than 40 high school students attended the Splash of Color masquerade party on October 3rd, as well as a variety of faculty and parents. As part of their admission fee, students were asked to bring cans of food to benefit the Better Living Center. In an unusual style twist, each class was assigned a color and were asked to feature that color in their costume for the evening. As a result, freshman showed up in green, sophomores in blue, juniors in purple, and the seniors in shocking pink (well, it was shocking for the senior guys, at least!)
The evening started off with a bonfire over the hill behind the school. Sparks and flames mixed with the light of a full harvest moon to provide those in costume a great start to the evening.
Once the bonfire had burned down, everyone gathered back at the gym for an array of sweet and salty snacks provided by students and their parents. [ed. comment: the macadamia cookies were great] Appetites satisfied, everyone settled down in the gym for a "Night at the Museum", starring Ben Stiller.
Thanks to the SA officers and their sponsor for a great evening of fun!
