Home for Midland K-12

"How can I shine as a light in a perverse and crooked generation?" This central question was the theme of the Youth for Youth conference attended by Midland Adventist Academy (MAA) juniors and seniors on September 17-19. The conference took place at Sunnydale Adventist Academy (SAA), and was lead and organized by SAA chaplain, Ric Meyerpeter.
On Thursday, the students loaded up in buses and headed off to central Missouri. After arriving at SAA the students joined Sunnydale's students in the chapel of the ad building for a brief worship.
Friday was filled with breakout sessions and time to mingle and make new friends. Through group activities and breakout sessions, directed by local church workers, students explored spiritual leadership in discipleship, evangelism, and personal relationships.
Before supper on Friday, MAA and SAA played a football game. WHAT FUN!!! That evening, the students met in the church for vespers. On Sabbath morning, the MAA praise team presented song service for Sabbath School, then everyone went over to the church to hear a sermon by Pastor Travis Sager. The afternoon was filled with more fun, games, and time to hang out.
MAA students made strong social and spiritual connections during the weekend. This was evident by the long and prayerful goodbyes held with non-MAA students upon departure from SAA on Saturday night. As one student put it, "It was sad to say good-bye to all the friends we made!"
