Home for Midland K-12

On September 10, high school girls from around the Kansas-Nebraska Conference arrived at Broken Arrow Ranch, signed up for cabins, breakout sessions, and horseback riding with all their best friends.
This year’s theme, “What’s Your Storyline?”, focused on paying attention to your own life story. Darchelle Worley, a former Midland Adventist Academy teacher and the guest speaker for the weekend, directed the high schoolers in writing down their storylines in small, colorful journals. In the various breakout sessions, seminar presenters discussed pertinent topics of health, beauty, friends, and relationships.
Outside of seminars, everyone had a blast while swimming, horseback riding, or just nibbling on snacks. Saturday night brought even more fun with yummy s’mores, craft-making, and mattress-sliding. With still more energy to spare, several girls trudged to the pool to play water volleyball, water basketball, and marco polo. The evening finally came to an end with the magical love story of Ever After, accompanied by popcorn and orange juice.
In the morning, everyone awoke reluctantly and packed their belongings. The girls made sack lunches and loaded their vehicles after the last seminar, which concerned the future yet to come. Everyone brought back the things they came with, but also returned with new experiences and a new appreciation of their own story.
