Home for Midland K-12
Since Kansas Day took place on Sabbath in 2011, Midland celebrated the 150th Anniversary of Kansas statehood a day early on Friday, January 28.
An all-school chapel was held starting at 9:00 am, featuring Troy Findley, the former Lt. Governor of Kansas. The first half of the program covered the history of Kansas from the first Spanish explorers in the 1500s to the present. The second half of chapel was directed to our high school students, and covered details on the Kansas government, including a question-and-answer period afterwards.
Lt. Governor Findley was presented with a Midland/Kansas gift basket at the end of the program. Thanks to Mr. Fred Lucky for arranging to have the Lt. Governor visit with our school and our students.
