Dinner and a Game Show

We sure hope your were able to attend our 2012 Junior Benefit, because if you didn't, you missed a great evening of entertainment, food, and fun. The class of 2013 presented a multi-course Italian meal, restaurant style (including pizzas handmade by Mr. Courtad). Those attending were treated to live music on the piano during the meal, followed by a game show called Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? Six contestants were drawn at random, and Rob Bruette and Dave Fairchild took home the top two prizes. For photographic evidence of the evening, you can check out this photo gallery.

Junior Preview Days = $500

Union College figtMidland's Junior class recently spent three days in Lincoln, NE attending Union College Preview Days with approximately 250 other students from around the Mid-America Union. The students were given the chance to engage in meaningful conversation about how to prepare for the college experience in terms of major choice, career options with major, and financial decisions.

While at Union, each of the students received a name card containing a list of different activites going on throughout Preview Days. Elizabeth Schlinsog explained, "Next to each activity was a circle where we would get a sticker when we attended that activity. The goal was for all of our class to get all the stickers filled in on their card."

On the final day of their visit, class sponsor Mr. Teller collected all of the activity cards. Based on 100% participation, our students received a $500 check from Union to be used on Senior class trip next year.
