Mr. Courtad was born and raised in Logansport, IN. He received a scholarship to run cross country and track at Ball State University. He started his teaching career in Flagstaff, AZ, where he lived for nine years. It was in Arizona where he committed his life to Jesus and joined the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He also lived a short time in Idaho.

Mr. Courtad married his high school sweetheart and best friend, Bambi (yes, just like the deer). He enjoys spending time with his wonderful family and still likes to run every day to stay fit.

His favorite activities besides running are triathlons (Mr. Courtad completed the Ford Ironman Triathalon Oceanside in California), backpacking, bouldering (rock climbing), flag football, and just about any outdoor sport. He also enjoys reading the Bible and baking bread.

You'd be surprised to know that...

Mr. Courtad began keeping a running journal when he was 14 years ago, and has logged every step since. On the first day of school this year he reached 60,000 miles!

Mr. Courtad married his beautiful wife Bambi in 1994. They have three wonderful children, Isaiah, Savannah, and Grettah, who are all proud Mustangs. They also have a dog and two cats.
