
Awards & Scholarships
A number of scholarships and awards are presented to Midland students each year during May. This page contains a brief history of the awards, and the recipients of each since Midland became a full academy in 1998.
John Philip Sousa Award

This award is determined by the high school band director. First established in 1954, it is presented in recognition of superior musicianship, dependability, loyalty, and cooperation. It honors the great American composer and band director, John Philip Sousa.

This award honors Mr. Keith Vollmer and his 41 years of service to Midland Adventist Academy. Presented by the Midland Alumni Association, it recognizes the students who best display the qualities that Mr. Vollmer demonstrated in his classroom day after day. It is awarded to an 8th grade graduate moving on to high school, and to a graduating senior.

Noah Alexander Rexin Scholarship

This award honors the memory of Noah Rexin, son of Jonathan and Valerie Rexin and brother of Jonah. Noah was born in 1999 with multiple congenital heart defects, and passed away 11 days before his second birthday. It was awarded each year from 2005-2021 to a member of Noah's class of 2017 who strives to overcome adversity, loves life, and lives each day to bring joy and happiness to others by treating them with kindness and respect.
