Operation Christmas Child

Each year, our students participate with thousands of other parents, students, and friends in Operation Christmas Child, an opportunity to send shoeboxes filled with Christmas goodies around the world to children in more than 160 countries. Coordinator Robin Gibson explains the program this way:

We are excited to once again participate in Operation Christmas Child through the ministry of Samaritan's Purse. Since 1993, Samaritan's Purse has partnered with local churches around the world to deliver 157 million Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts to children in need in 160 countries. Each one - packed full of fun toys, school supplies, and hygiene items by a family or individual - is sent with prayer that the child who receives it will experience God's love through their simple gifts.

We are inviting our Midland students to bring their gifts - school supplies, hats, gloves, socks, hygiene items (especially toothbrushes, wash cloths, and bar soap), small tools, shoelaces, small toys, plastic cups/bowls/plates etc. - to the school by Friday, November 16th. Note: they are unable to include toothpaste, candy, or gum this year so please choose other items to share. We will be packaging the shoe boxes here at school and then they will be taken to a church in the area to be sent to the regional distribution center. It is suggested that the shoebox include $9.00 to help with shipping/transporting fees so feel free to send shoebox gifts or cash/checks (made out to Samaritan's Purse) or both!

Thank you so much for your generosity in this awesome ministry! What a great way to share the love of Jesus with kids all over the world!

Consider what you and your child can give for this great project, and have it to the school by November 16th.
